Fortis Developments approached Quantum2 asking us to design and fit-out their new Head Office in Hale, Cheshire.
The process began with our in-house design interior team space planning the 3,000 sq.ft space based on the Directors' initial outline brief "to create a space that matched the high quality standards of the accommodation they provide for their own clients".
Initial design concepts produced by Quantum2 were well received - we included the corporate brand colours of green, blue and orange). Using these colours we gave areas of the workspace themes. Within the cellular staff offices we specified and installed an orange border from the Burmatex 'Strands' range. The reception and boardroom had blue and finally the directors' suite border in green, all from the same range. All remaining carpet tiles were grey in colour providing a neutral colour scheme for the furniture finishes to stand out.
The reception area needed to be welcoming for clients in this new head office space. Quantum2 included corporate branding in digital wallpaper and through vinyl transfers using wall space. A comfortable seating area for clients was required to make a great first impression. Oyster lounge chairs with a white PU shell and Yarwood soft blue faux leather complemented the tones from the carpet border and curved (existing reception furniture) area. Finished off with a biophilic touch - 5ft artificial bamboo plant.
The individual cellular offices housed different teams from sales, marketing, accounts and management personnel. Within those teams it was very important to create a good atmosphere for communication. Therefore, Quantum2 specified fully cable managed, white bench desks from Sven Christiansen. As this area had the orange theme - orange desk screens finished in Camira fabric and Nomique's Remi mesh backed (orange) with a touch of blue added in the seat pad.
Fortis' boardroom needed a "quality and classic feel" as described by the Directors. Quantum2 looked no further than using Fulcrum from Sven Christiansen. We designed a bespoke 'floor to ceiling' media and storage wall at one end of the room - finished in Smoked Oak veneer. Inside this we installed a 75" inch LED TV = all linked to power modules fitted within the boardroom table. The table itself, again bespoke in matching veneer finish, seated 12 people and was square in shape. Fitted with built in cable management via table top power modules (power/data/HDMI) thus creating a superior, executive modern meeting facility. Complementary chairs from the Fulcrum range finished off this "quality and classic" boardroom.
The Directors' Suite also required meeting space and storage for their new room. It was decided during the consultation phase of this project - that veneer wasn't required. Quantum2 specified the Macassar finish for the bespoke Ambus meeting table (complete with cable management), along with bespoke storage with an integrated drinks fridge perfect for meetings. For the seating around this space we added some statement chairs - we used Boss Design Kruze chairs (as seen on Match of The Day) with leather seat/back with an American Walnut shell. The media wall was designed in the fit-out so a 65" LED TV could be sunken into the wall itself - complete with speaker and amplifying system. This bespoke meeting room furniture all sits above a matching (shaped) carpet in lime green. The Directors' also required soft seating for the suite. Newton sofas (by Sixteen3) finished in Camira Craggan fabric provided classic style and comfort, with two single lounge chairs (Odyssey by Sixteen3) accompanied by a 'boom arm' lamp to create a thinking space during or after a hard day's work. Existing desks were re-used in this room but new chairs were needed - the Italian designed Dune chair by Quadrifoglio in full leather provided the finishing touch to their executive furniture.
The Directors wanted to give their staff somewhere to unwind - a Games Room provided; Pool table, dart board and 55" LED TV - completed with tub chairs (finished in Agua Oregon & Fusion fabrics) and poseur height cafe style furniture. We used Amtico 'Ink Wash Wood' for the flooring in here, for a high quality 'easy clean' designer finish. We carried this floor theme over to the kitchen area as well - and replaced all existing cupboard doors to complement the finish.
This project was completed on time and within budget!
