Ergonomically designed office chairs are generally known as task chairs. They are engineered to provide superior comfort and support for the user. New technology as seen the rise of task chairs that have 'balanced synchronised' mechanisms - known as 'active seating' - these features promote and mimic natural body movement. These new technologies prevent task chairs from being static - they reduce pressure points building up in the users; lower lumbar, thoracic and coccyx regions of the back. Our guide to task chairs allows you to quickly distinguish between features and costs - allowing you to work out what chair is right for you. All our chairs come with long guarantees.
Humans aren't designed to sit for long periods of time. Our body is built to be active. Sitting at 90 degree angles reduces movement dramatically. We always recommend people to move as much as possible in the workplace. That aside, we appreciate it's not always possible; especially during busy work periods and looming deadlines. Our solution is to provide natural movement while being seated. This is known as active seating.
A problem with sitting sedentary at a 90 degrees - whether this is at a desk or meeting table; is the reduced blood circulation and the build up of pressure points. Our task chair range demonstrates many features and designs to reduce this problem. From waterfall seats, mesh seats (to distribute a users weight evenly), seat slides that enable a user to change the depth, body-weight tension that reduces the weight of the human body; making movement easier and synchro mechanisms - where the seat and back move actively in a motion ratio. All these features aid the user when sat at a desk.
